Mrs. Kari Beckman - Foundress and Executive Director

Mrs. Beckman developed her love of education serving as a national officer for an international organization, which is dedicated to fostering a diversity of education options for children. She then worked for several years with the Department of Education in Georgia and Arizona, leading an initiative on leadership development in young people. As a nationally-recognized public speaker, she traveled the country sharing her passion for the highest standards of personal conduct and excellence in learning.

With this zeal for education, her love of children and her conversion* to the Catholic faith in 1993, she embarked on a life-changing road that led her to the founding of Regina Caeli Academy and a dedication to classical education in the Catholic tradition.

Since its founding in 2003, she has served as RCA’s Executive Director, guiding its growth from a single entity to what is currently sixteen centers in 11 states serving almost 1500 students and children. In 2019, she also oversaw the opening of RCA's first international affiliate, located in Bedfordshire, UK.

With 20 years of homeschooling experience, she is a champion of the home education method and considers it her passion to share the great news of homeschooling. She recently has been featured in Forbes magazine as well as internationally on the BBC news network for her work in hybrid homeschool education.

When not homeschooling or leading RCA, she spends her time supporting her local Catholic Church as the Pro-life Leader and Parish Council member  of Our Lady of the Mountains in Jasper, GA. She lives in Canton, GA, with Rich, her husband of 26 years, and their eight children.

*Her full conversion story may be read in the book "Chosen- How Christ Sent Twenty-three Surprised Converts to Replant His Vineyard" by Donna Steichen from Ignatius Press.

Mrs. Hartsock resides in Austin, TX with her husband Sam and four children.  She converted to the Catholic faith in 2002 and immediately became convinced of the necessity of classical, Catholic homeschooling. During her 7 years at Regina Caeli, Mrs. Hartsock has served as an upper school tutor, Center Coordinator of Education, and Regional Manager of Education.  She now serves as the Assistant Director of Education working from the Austin RCA center, where her children attend.

Prior to homeschooling, Mrs. Hartsock earned her Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin and worked at Advanced Micro Devices in both Sunnyvale and Austin.  She has served on the Religious Education advisory board at St. Mary Cathedral in Austin where she has been a parishioner for 14 years, and is active in her local homeschool community.  Some of Mrs. Hartsock’s greatest joys are reading C.S.
